Chamutal Zarem Kastel – a graduate of the Film Department at Tel Aviv University. Mother of Alma and Daria.
Chamutal is one of the top casting directors in Israel over the past decade. Nominated for 4 Ophir Awards. Among the productions she has cast: “Bad Boy” for HOT premiering on Netflix on 2025, “Indel” for HOT, “Close to Me,” Tom Nesher’s first feature film, which was selected to represent Israel at the Oscars in the U.S., “Mary” (an international Netflix production), “Karaoke” by Moshe Rosenthal and United king films, and many other diverse projects.
Chamutal also leads acting workshops for camera performance and audition preparation for actors, as well as casting workshops for directors.
Chamutal believes that the casting director’s role is to help the director tell the story they want bring out in a film or series through the most accurate actors for the roles.
