May is an award-winning cinematographer working in all genres, from short subjects to television series, from documentaries to narrative features.
She is a celebrated alum of the Sam Spiegel Film & Television School with a specialization in photography and a certificate of studies from the “Exposure” program. While still in school, May began her career in documentaries, earning the Alex Bernstein grant at the Jerusalem Film Festival. Since then, May has contributed her talents to a long list of award-winning films and docu-series which have participated in festivals and broadcasts all over the world, including “Raiding Grandma” for Kan Digital, Haifa Festival winner “Night Trip”, as well as “Open Your Mouth” and “How to Say Silence” which were both nominated for awards at the Documentary Makers Forum. She’s also contributed to award-winning narrative series and films, such as “What Isn’t Broke”, “Cold and Sun”, and “Night Trip.”
May brings her vast doc experience into her narrative work, effortlessly bridging the gap between the genres to create a visual language that’s emotional and alluring while faithfully serving the heart of the story. These specific talents recently earned her the Best Cinematography Award at the International Student Film Festival.
In addition to her long list of celebrated series and films, May is also expanding on her commercial work, shooting campaigns for ArcoSteel, GIGI, and more.
