Miky Wajnerman is a cinematographer born in Córdoba, Argentina, currently based in Tel Aviv. He is a graduate of the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School in Jerusalem, where he graduated with honors and received the Cinematography Award in 2019. Miki believes that cinematography is not merely about creating a “beautiful frame,” but about distilling the director’s vision into a unique visual language. In his work, he strives to decode the underlying intentions within the text and translate them into an honest image—free of affectation and always justified by the story. He is naturally drawn to projects with a distinctive character that require an original and poetic approach. His visual language is characterized by a meticulous use of color palettes, drawing constant inspiration from his love of the big screen, as well as a strong affinity for architecture, movement, and dance. His creative process involves a deep dialogue with the director and extensive use of references from the worlds of cinema and art—fields he continuously engages with and lives. Alongside his work as a director of photography, Miki also works as a camera operator and second camera cinematographer on some of the most prominent projects produced in Israel in recent years, including Bad Boy (Netflix), Yes by Nadav Lapid, Six Zeros (yes), Another Story by Avi Nesher, as well as children’s and youth series.
