Rotem Shamir

Director, creator, editor and screenwriter, a graduate of film studies from the New School Univeristy, New York. Rotem directed the second season of ‘Fouda’ that was selected as one of the ‘10 Best TV Series’ by the New York Times. He also acted as screenwriter and director for the series ‘Hostages’ that was broadcast in Europe and  won ‘The Best International TV Series’ award at the Monte Carlo Festival, before being remade by Warner Studios and then broadcast by CBS. Rotem’s love for film noir as well as for detective and sci-fi stories is tangible in each of his works and actually in each of the powerful frames he creates. His attraction to dark cinematography is reflected not only visually, but also in his choice of subjects. Rotem virtously tells stories full of depth and emotions that are highly entertaining at the same time. Apart from TV series, Rotem has also directed promos, music videos and many commercials. His ‘StarWars’ campaign for Israeli Channel 10 and the ‘Fact’ campaign for Keshet TV won him several PromaxBDA Awards. He has been honored with additional prestigeous prizes for his works as director and editor, amongst other with the Haifa Film Festival Prize for his film ‘Seven Minutes in Heaven’ and an official selection of his film ‘Phobidilia’at the Berlin Film Festival. This year Channel 12 broadcast the film “Kidnapping – Line 300” which Rotem directed and which received wide coverage.
