Tzachi started his career as an ambitious eighth-grader shooting James Bond-style B-movies with whatever equipment and crew he could muster. Learning by doing, always in pursuit of new and cinematic ways to tell stories, remains his driving force today.
Tzachi has been working in the industry since 1996 with extensive experience as a First Assistant Director on various productions ranging from independent films to major television series.
It was during those early years he wrote, produced and directed his film “Quentin Told Me”, supported by the New Fund for Cinema and TV, which screened for a year at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque and later became a cult-hit among film students. Later, while living abroad in Montreal, Canada, he founded “Studio Mia” – a groundbreaking independent production house dedicated to the creation of video content specifically for the internet.
Since then, Tzachi has established himself as a sought-after director of promotional films, commercials and music videos for leading brands and artists such as
Mazda, Mitsubishi, Gindi, Lupe, Idan Raichel, Gilad Kahana, Dana Berger and many others. In addition to his work as a filmmaker, Tzachi also teaches a First AD course at Camera Obscura, passing on his knowledge and experience to those at the beginning of their careers.
Currently, Tzachi is working on his film “Looking for Herzl Hasson”, a feature documentary within the world of rock, as well as on the network series, “Karate Kim”, a comic homage to the karate films of the 80’s.
